APTOS — A wild start, a wilder finish, and from all appearances, Monterey Peninsula College's football team is going bowling again.

The Lobos got a 29-yard field goal from Izia Polanco with 11.7 seconds left and defeated host Cabrillo 45-42 Saturday afternoon at Carl Conelly Stadium to most likely secure a bowl bid.

Guess what? Cabrillo, despite the loss, made a bowl, too, it was announced Sunday. It faces MPC in a rematch in Living Breath Foundation Bowl on Nov. 30 at Rabobank Stadium in Salinas. Game time is TBA,

MPC (9-1, 5-1) took second in the American Gold Coast Conference. Cabrillo (8-2, 4-2)  took third and ended its 12-year bowl drought.
