Cabrillo men’s soccer stuns No. 3 state-ranked Hartnell

Oh là là! French midfielder Nathan Prevoteaux had two goals and an assist, and the Cabrillo College men's soccer team stunned No. 3 state-ranked Hartnell 3-0 in Coast Conference North Division match in Salinas on Tuesday.

It was the Seahawks' first win over the Panthers since Nov. 8, 2019.

Prevoteaux, a freshman out of Le Muy, France, gave the unranked Seahawks (5-4-3, 3-1-2) the lead in the 31st minute and added his second goal three minutes later.

Luca Venturoli, a sophomore forward out of Bologna, Italy, added an insurance goal for the Seahawks in the 68th minute.

 

Mathis Gaultier, a sophomore midfielder from Saint-Louis, France, assisted two goals.

It was the first time the Panthers (10-2-2, 5-1-0) have been shut out since playing a scoreless draw against Cosumnes River in their season opener Aug. 22.

Bryan Bravo Martinez, a freshman goalie out of Alisal High, made three saves in recording the clean sheet.

Panthers goalie Andres Avila made four saves over the first 70 minutes before being replaced by Marco Martinez Aguilera, who made two saves over the final 20 minutes.

The Seahawks, who are unbeaten in all four of their matches in October, play at Skyline (7-3-3, 3-2-1) in San Bruno on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.
