Women's Soccer v. City College of San Francisco | Preview

APTOS - Autumn is in the air, bringing with it pumpkin spiced confections and a chance for revenge as the Seahawks women's soccer program hosts the City College of San Francisco Rams, at 2 p.m. in Carl Conelly Stadium.

When last these two teams met CCSF (6-4) earned a victory, 4-1, in San Francisco, with all four of the Rams goals coming in the second half. Less than 24 hours before in Aptos, the Seahawks defeated Butte College, 2-0, leading many players to speculate that the outcome would have been different had they had more time to rest and recover between matches.

Through seven games, Coach Mondragon and her squad have established a stout defense, anchored by sophomore goalie Sophia Magliato, capable of turning back even the most gifted opponents.

That team strength will be put to the test against sophomore defender Alia Morris, who leads the Rams in goals scored (6) and total points (14), when the two teams face off for the final time during the regular season.

Questions still linger at the offensive end of the pitch for the Seahawks, but with a bevy of talented footballers the question is not "if they start scoring," but "when will they start scoring?"

Cabrillo's dynamic sophomore duo of midfielder Clara Critchfield and forward Taylor Raymond must continue to develope additional offensive threats, like freshman outside sniper Kasja Johnson, to keep opposing defenses honest as the team enters conference play.

CCSF boast the most potent offense and second most effective defense in the Coast Conference, and they currently control the Coast Conference North.

The Seahawks currently sit in fourth place in the Coast Conference South, and are on a two-game losing streak.
