The Cabrillo College women's volleyball team extended its conference winning streak to 115 straight matches Friday.

The Seahawks defeated Hartnell College in three sets, 25-18, 26-24, 25-21, in Coast Conference play.

Sophomore outside hitter Ellie Cary finished with a game-high 12 kills and 11 digs for Cabrillo, which is ranked No. 8 in the CCC Women's Volleyball Coaches Association Rankings.

"I think you always think about it before the match but once we're in the game nobody really thinks about too heavily unless it's on the line," Cary said. "I think if we're in that fifth set situation, we do think about it a little bit more. But I think it's more of a standard that's set for us than a pressure."

Cary said the last time both teams met on Sept. 7 at the Delta Classic, the Seahawks struggled to put the Panthers away. That wasn't the case Friday.

"We don't really talk about [the streak], to be honest," said Cabrillo coach Kelsee Montagna. "I try to stay away from that just because of the hype around it."

Montagna said the overall goal is to get better every match. She said they had some hiccups against Hartnell.

"We're just trying to grind through certain rotations where we don't get stuck in certain ones," Montagna said. "We talk about the road to get better."
