Cabrillo volleyball star Ellie Cary named all-state, All-American | Santa Cruz Sentinel

Cabrillo College women's volleyball star Ellie Cary — MVP of the Coast Conference North Division — picked up two more postseason accolades.

Cary, a sophomore sophomore outside hitter out of Monta Vista High in Cupertino, was named to the California Community College Women's Volleyball Coaches Association All-State team and American Volleyball Coaches Association First-Team All-American.

She led the No. 6 state-ranked Seahawks to their 13th straight conference title.

The Seahawks (21-5), the No. 3 seed for the California Community College Athletic Association NorCal playoffs, host No. 14 Butte (20-11) their first-round match Tuesday night.

The Roadrunners earned a 25-21, 25-13, 25-11 sweep of No. 19 Los Medanos in their play-in match Saturday night.
