Cabrillo College's offense didn't have its 'A' game Saturday in Eureka, but the Seahawks' defense did. The Seahawks got enough of it to rally for a 21-14 nonconference win over host Redwoods.

"The defense played outstanding," third-year Seahawks coach Darren Arbet said. "It was a nice bounce-back win."

The Seahawks (4-1) were coming off their first loss of the season, a 42-23 setback to Reedley (4-1), the defending Coast Conference champion.

Cabrillo defensive linemen Ty Winn, Jesse Ehimare and Cameron Moore, and linebacker Gustavo Torres each had a couple sacks against Redwoods. The Seahawks also saw Justice Palms, Ryan Leonard, Cory Riley and Joseph Lowe record interceptions.

The Seahawks improved to 4-5-1 in the teams' lifetime series, which dates back to 1967.
