APTOS, CA - The Cabrillo Seahawks are heading to the 2022 State Tournament this week in Irvine, California. The Seahawks have not only advanced as a team, but also have 4 pairs competing in the State Pairs Tournament.
Ranked #1 in Northern California (21-1 record), the Seahawks will be the #1 seed in Pool B for the State Team Tournament. Irvine Valley College (S2) and El Camino (S3) are the two teams Cabrillo will face in order to advance to the championship match.
Pool A consists of Orange Coast (S1), Feather River (N2), and San Diego Mesa (S4).
The winner of each pool advance and will go head-to-head for a shot to be a State Champion. All matches will be played on Thursday, May 12th. Schedule below:
9 a.m. – Orange Coast vs San Diego Mesa
10 a.m. – Cabrillo vs. El Camino
11 a.m. – Feather River vs. San Diego Mesa
Noon – Irvine Valley vs. El Camino
1 p.m. – Orange Coast vs. Feather River
2 p.m. – Cabrillo vs. Irvine Valley
4:30 p.m. – Pool A winner vs. Pool B winner
With the most qualifying pairs out of any program in the state, the Seahawks will also compete for an individual pair championship on Friday, May 13th and Saturday, May 14th.
Pool play begins on Friday, May 13th (AM/PM wav). The top two teams of each pool will then advance to a 16-team bracket on Saturday, May 14th. All pools/bracket updates can be found on the CCCAA Beach Volleyball Championship website.
