Austin James scored 17 points to lead the Cabrillo College men's basketball team past American River 83-64 in the first round of the CCCAA NorCal Regional playoffs in Sacramento on Tuesday night.
Alphonse Alfred scored 12 points for the Seahawks and Samy Buteau added 10 points in the win.
The Seahawks (18-11) play at No. 1 City College of San Francisco (27-1) on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
It'll be the teams' second meeting. The Rams prevailed 91-69 in a nonconference game against the short-handed Seahawks on Nov. 12.
