Former Seahawk Trey Whitley’s first season as a pro is a success!

In his first season playing professionally in Scotland for the Falkirk Fury, Trey Whitley was able to continue to experience success on the basketball court. After being named the Coast South Conference MVP in 2019, Whitley received an Athletic Scholarship to Black Hills State University in South Dakota, an NCAA D2 program. In his time there he was a 2 X All Conference performer and as a Jr. helped lead Black Hills State to a 20 - 9 record, including a 13 game win streak which sits as the longest in school history. Whitley graduated from Black Hills State and signed a pro contract that would take him to the beautiful country of Scotland, which Whitley said "embraced him as one of their own." As a member of the Falkirk Fury, Whitley was named Team MVP, helped lead them to a 25-3 record and the Scottish Cup Championship, while averaging 27pts, 7rbs and 7asts along the way. He considered it one of the greatest experiences of his life, "the culture, food, people, architecture and the unbelievavble environment of the greenest country I have ever seen is an experience I could relive over and over again." Whitley now is preparing to move up to a higher division and continue his overseas pro career, and for those that remember watching one of the best guards to ever wear a Seahawk uniform, the sky's the limit for the Santa Cruz native!
