Mark began his career at Cabrillo College as an athletic trainer in 2001. He began teaching Personal Health in 2005. In 2009 Mark took over the Introduction to Athletic training and First Aid courses in the Kinesiology Department as well as continued his work as the Head Athletic Trainer. In 2015 Mark became the Assistant Director of Athletics: Athletic Training and in Fall 2017 semester Mark became the Associate Dean of Athletics and Kinesiology.  Fall 2022, Mark transitioned to the Cabrillo College Athletic Director.

Mark was born and raised in Santa Cruz and graduated from Soquel High School in 1994. Mark went on to get a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology from Sonoma State University in May 1999 with a concentration athletic training. Mark also received a Master of Arts degree in Kinesiology from San Jose State University in December of 2004. Mark is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA), the California Athletic Trainers Association (CATA), the California Community College Athletic Trainers Association (CCCATA), and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

Mark is married to Jen Ramsey and has 3 children Parker, Braden and Audrey
