The Cabrillo College men's basketball team — playing its first game in nearly two weeks — beat Diablo Valley 84-72 in Pleasant Hill on Wednesday night.

Four Seahawks reached double digits in points and two, Samy Buteau and Alphonse Alfred, recorded double-doubles.

Buteau, a 6-foot-8 freshman forward, had 13 points and 10 rebounds and Alfred, a 6-5 sophomore guard/forward, had 10 points and 13 rebounds.

Freshman guard Cameron Noel led the Seahawks with 19 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals. Teammate Jonel Aponte, a sophomore guard, had 18 points, three assists and three steals.

The Seahawks shot 52.5% (31 of 59) from the field and 42.9% (nine of 21) from beyond the arc to help make up for a poor showing from the free-throw line (59.1%l 13 of 22) and 21 turnovers.

Cabrillo has produced its two highest scoring games in successive outings. It routed Merced 85-41 in the Saltwater Classic on Dec. 4, but didn't play again until Wednesday after home contests against Merritt and Alameda were postponed.
