Seahawks Women's Water Polo Taps George-Paul Scheppler To Lead

Cabrillo College Women's Water polo is proud to announce the hiring of Associate Head Coach George-Paul Scheppler. Colloquially known as Schep by staff and student-athletes, Coach Scheppler and his service dog Posey will make history this season as they become the first Service Dog team to coach in the CCCAA.

Since being hired in mid July, Coach Scheppler has managed to assemble one of the largest water polo teams in school history pairing elite players from the Monterey Bay area with teammates from around the state.

Coach Scheppler has competed, worked, and coached across a multitude of sports during his career including swimming and diving for Providence College, working as an ocean lifeguard on Cape Cod in addition to serving as a Surface Rescue Swimmer in the United States Navy.

This will be Coach Scheppler's second time working with water polo at Cabrillo. He was a volunteer assistant coach with both the men's and women's programs from 2016 through 2017 before leaving to accept a Rebele Journalism Scholarship.

Prior to 2016, Coach Scheppler worked with CSU Monterey Bay Women's Water Polo, Justin-Siena Water Polo and Lacrosse (Boy/Girls), Napa Valley Swim Team (Boys/Girl), All West Lacrosse (U19/U17), and Napa Valley Force Lacrosse (U15).

Schep stood up the Sports and Information program at Cabrillo College Athletics in 2019 and has built up the program over the past four years to include broadcasting, photography, video production, internships, and journalism.
