ORANGE - Orange Coast's Roman Christenot and Cabrillo's Belene Rodriguez enjoyed big weeks for their teams last week and have been named the 3CWPCA Athletes of the Week, it was announced by the coaches organization on Wednesday.

Christenot led the No. 6 Orange Coast College Pirates to a 4-0 week that featured 25 saves in wins over No. 4 Mt. San Antonio, American River, No. 8 LA Valley and No. 5 Long Beach. His efforts were highlighted by stopping 14 shots in a one-goal victory over Long Beach, backed by a 11 save effort in a two-goal win over Mt. San Antonio. He currently ranks third in the state in saves (110) and has notched five double-digit save games on the season.

Belene Rodriguez
Cabrillo
Rodriguez had a monster weekend after leading Cabrillo to four wins and an undefeated season thus far. She was a dynamic offensive weapon leading to 23 goals, eight assists, three steals, eight drawn ejections and eight blocks. She scored 10 goals in a victory over Las Positas to mark her second-strongest offensive showing this season. All eight of her blocks came in a victory over Cuesta. Cabrillo is currently 5-0 on the season.
