Bigler, Rodriguez, and Nielson 3CWPCA Named All-Americans

After a storybook season, Seahawks women's water polo is honored to announce that for the first time in school history we have not just one, but three players named to the All-American team by the 3CWPCA. After setting school records in wins in a season (17), goals (325), and finishing 3rd in the NorCal Tournament this group earned the right to etch their names into the record books.

Belene Rodriguez racked up a school record 121 goals, and had 20 assists, 15 steals, drew 10 ejections, and has 11 feild blocks. Rodriguez also became the first player in school history selected as the 3CWPCA Player of the Week (Week 2) after leading Cabrillo to four wins as they swept the Bochman Memorial Women's Water Polo Tournament. She was a dynamic offensive weapon leading to 23 goals, eight assists, three steals, eight drawn ejections and eight blocks. She scored 10 goals in a victory over Las Positas to mark her second-strongest offensive showing this season. All eight of her blocks came in the championship game victory over Cuesta. Cabrillo is currently 5-0 on the season.

Team Captian Sadie Bigler scored 86 goals, and had 40 assists, 60 steals, and 10 field block. This was Bigler's second season with the Seahawks and she intends to transfer to CALPOLY Humbolt.

Team Captian Sierra Nielson was a swiss army knife for the Seahawks producing 33 goals, 22 assists, and 45 steals. Nielson may return in the fall.
