Fans in the stands guilds are special releases designed to give you a deeper insight into a visiting team and what is at stake in the match-up. Whether you are on campus watching the action live, or following along on one of our social media channels, our 'Fans in the stands guilds' are here to give you a deeper connection to Cabrillo College Athletics.

Aptos - The Cabrillo College football team is ready to take flight against the Reedley College Tigers in Carl Conelly Stadium, at 1 p.m.

The game will be streamed live at FaceBook.com/CabrilloFootball, and a link will be available on our home page roughly 15 minutes before kick-off.

After excising some old demons down in Salinas last week, the Seahawks (1-0, 3-0) find themselves in a two-way tie for third place with Reedley in the NorCal American Division according to the September 30 CCCFCA poll

The Seahawks and Tigers (3-1) trail second-ranked Monterey Peninsula College (1-0, 3-0) and top-ranked Foothill College (4-0).

With MPC sitting at the end of the regular season schedule, today's game will serve as a litmus test for how the voting committees view the Seahawks going forward. For perspective, as it stands at kick-off the Seahawks opponents over the next five games are a collective 5-14 this season.

Anchored by the "Doomsday D-Hawks" defense fresh off its suffocating performance against Hartnell last week, this week's opponent could be the Seahawks' biggest challenge yet.

The Seahawks defense currently ranks first in the state for fewest points allowed per game (5.3 ppg), total point given up (17 points), and fewest yards allowed per game (130.3 ypg). The "D-Hawks' rank second in rushing defense (28.8) and third in passing defense (101 ypg).

Reedley has won 13 of their last 14 games heading into today's match-up.

Tigers sophomore running back Jason Chambers will challenge the defense for the second consecutive week after facing David Freeman of Hartnell last week.

Chambers rushed for 158 yards on nine touches in two quarters against Contra Costa College two weeks ago, before sitting out last week's loss against Foothill College. On the season, Chambers has 306 yards on 30 attempts for a 10.6 yard per rush average.
